Engineering Technician (Machinery Controls)

McKean is seeking en experienced Engineering Technician to support U.S. Navy Machinery Control Systems (MCS) programs. Responsibilities may include:
- Support system installation, testing, and troubleshooting in a lab environment and shipboard.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues using wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
- Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation. Includes but not limited to test plans, maintenance procedures, installation procedures, operational procedures, equipment installation drawings, troubleshooting guides.
- Provide shipboard operator and maintenance training.
Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical documentation and electrical schematics.
Ability to use computer to complete work products.
The work is typically performed in an office environment and test labs. Additional work may be performed onboard US Navy Ships (pier side and at sea), which requires proper safety precautions and ability to go up and down shipboard stairways (ladders); work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment.
Up to 25% travel required.
High school diploma or trade/industrial school diploma (or GED equivalent) and/or related military training such as a Gas Turbine Systems Technician - Electrical (GSE).
Experience troubleshooting and tracing signals to diagnose or isolate cause for electrical failures.
Experience using wiring diagrams and electrical schematics to troubleshoot systems.
Experience reading, understanding, and interpreting electrical schematics.
Prior U.S. Navy shipboard experience a plus.
Must be able to obtain a Government secret security clearance.
