Job Description

McKean Defense is seeking an engineer to support US Navy ship programs in the area of Navigation, Integrated Bridge, and Ship Control systems. The candidate’s responsibilities may include:

  • Support software/system testing and troubleshooting in both a shipboard and lab environment.
  • Provide engineering recommendations and solutions to resolve system issues.
  • Interface with Government (NAVSEA), Fleet, and Industry Teams; facilitating effective relationships, and attending project team meetings to improve process efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop, review, and update technical documentation.
Required Skills

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Proficient with MS Office suite.

Active DoD security clearance, or ability to obtain one.

Ability to travel occasionally; not to exceed 20%.

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related degree.

Minimum 2+ years of professional engineering experience required.

Prior experience supporting U.S. Navy programs a plus.

Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts a plus.
